Features
Le't see the different features of the Creative Zen Touch :
- 20 Go hard drive (40 Go available), which can stock between
4000 and 5000 tracks ; it's large enough I think to have all his music
library with us !
- Official duration of the battery : 24h ; I confirm : the battery
is awesome, even after month of use, it lasts twenty hours without problem
with the sound set to max.
- Good design, with lit blue screen ; pleasant to use (I find).
- It's quite big for me, and it is delivered with a black
protective case, which has a clip for the belt.
Weight : a bit more of 200g, so it's correct.

- Delivered with :
- an installation CD : It is not automatically recognized
by windows, even like an external hard drive. You must consequently
have this cd on you - or you must be able to go on internet in order to have
the drivers offered by CZT.free.fr (section download) ; include the
Creative Media Source Software, which is rather pratical and has a lot of
functions (especially if you have a Creative sound card)
- black case : It protects your player from the shocks (it seems
almost unbreakable...), and allows you to clip it on your belt
- a cable to reload the battery
- a standard cable in order to link it to the computer and which
can reload the battery too ; plug it into a USB port (compatible USB 2.0)
- Headphones which seems of good quality
- a manual
- For the initiates, here are the technical features :
- # Frequency Response : 20 Hz - 20 kHz
- Sensibility : 113 dB ± 5 dB
- Impédance : 32 Ohm ± 15 %
- Headphone out : 1 x 1/8" stereo minijack (3,5 mm)
- Compatible WAV, MP3, WMA and WMA with DRM (Digital Right
Management) : the only necessary, consequently, but large enough
- Requirements (official site):
- Microsoft® Windows® 98SE/Me/2000/XP
- Intel® Pentium® II 233MHz or AMD K6® -2 266Mhz (Pentium III 450MHz or higher recommended for MP3 encoding)
- 64MB RAM (128MB recommended)
- USB 1.1 port (USB 2.0 recommended for faster transfers)
- 30MB free hard drive space (more for audio content storage)
- CD-ROM drive with digital audio extraction support
- And last but not least the price : we can find it at less from 200 $ (150 £), with time to time special sales !
So it's approximately 100 $ less than the iPod...
In short, the Zen Touch is a reliable mp3 Player, for those who like have their music with them wherever they go
Its battery, its design and its design are enough I find to compensate the lack of notoriety (vis-a-vis of the iPod) and its size (even if it is exactly in the standard size of the hard drive mp3 player).
